DH got his kids. Their discharge/ release process is interesting. Court officer is there as is a social worker. I got to sit in the waiting room since I was was the complaining party. DH entered each of his kids into a first time offenders program. He figured that would teach the kids their lesson, without anything going on their record. He did not want them let off scott free. More afraid if only he punished them they would not understand that society and the law says what they did was wrong! Social worker also apparently laughed in their face at the idea that my refusing to do their laundry and be their taxi was abuse.

200 hours of community service each. 100 hours picking up roadside trash, 100 hours serving meals at a local soup kitchen. Per DH they will work every hour during their summertime, instead of spending their summer off at the beach, mall or on vacation they will be picking up other peoples trash and serving meals to the homeless/ less fortunate. So long as they complete the hours within 6 months, nothing goes on their record. If they fail to complete their hours then they are kicked out of the program and will go through the courts. He made sure his 17 year old was aware of that as he could see her turning 18 and "I am living with mom and not doing this anymore" in the middle of the summer. If they complete the hours, charges are utterly dismissed as if it never happened. Only thing that remains is a note in the system that they successfully completed the program, so if they get in trouble later, it is not offered again.

Kids came home to their rooms empty and their new uniforms. All are eerily quiet. They figured their mom would be picking them up and were stunned to find out she is still in jail with no chance of getting out at any point today. Consequences kids. She made a decision she knew was wrong and illegal and now gets to pay the price, that is how the world works. Three of the four have apologized, and I believe those apologies were heartfelt, only hold out is the 17 year old. She is pissed because all of her clothes hit the garbage.

My kids, mom, sister and MIL are due within an hour. None have any idea what has occurred in the last 24 hours. I can honestly see Meemaw (DH's mom) borrowing his dads belt and going to have a chat with those kids.

Oh, someone asked earlier their ages: 17,16,15,14. BM either sucked at taking her pill or poked holes in the condoms DH swears he wore. While she was PG with the 14yo he got himself fixed to prevent any more.
