Comfort
So I have heard time and again that BM has ssalmost 5 sleep with her in "their" bed because she is his comfort. He has a bottle at night of chocolat milk because it's his comfort. I cannot be apart of his life meaning picking him up and such because I am NOT his comfort according to her.
soooooooooooo.....
I have decided that since he needs comfort so much and is to afraid to sleep alone (when with her he sleeps alone at our home) that I will give him the gift of comfort.
I am getting him a soft snuggly plush cozy pillow with DH,ss, and my picture on it. That way he can find saftey and comfort in this and learn to be independent with BM brainwashing him.
Now he can sleep with his pillow in his bed he's had his entire life but never once slept in at her home at the same time getting to look at a happy picture of his father and me

Love it!!! Does he fight you
Love it!!! Does he fight you at all when he sleeps in his own bed at your house? My skids have been sleeping with MIL for 9 months when they were living with her. every night 3 kids and her sleeping together. SS8 wont sleep by himself at all and I need to find a way to make it happen, because I will be damned if kids are sleeping in my bed, let alone coming into my room without knocking and permission!
He did at when we first
He did at when we first started it, but now we say it's bedtime and he doesn't bat an eye. Sometimes he'll say he's scared so DH or I will sit with him till he falls asleep in HIS bed. Once he's asleep he does great sleeps all night gets up gets dressed and comes gets us.
a bottle? that with Mess up
a bottle? that with Mess up his teeth bad. Who has to pay for dental, I would get it in the CO that BM has too because of her poor choices.
and I love the pillow idea
Oh dear Lord in heaven. A 5
Oh dear Lord in heaven. A 5 year old is getting a bottle before bed every night?? i went to visit a very dear friend of mine for Easter this past year and her 4 year old was still drinking out of a bottle before bed and naptime... while my 15 month old BS was drinking out of his sippy cup. I think my friend was embarrassed (as she should have been) seriously.. what is the matter with people? These are the kids that grow up to be manipulative, entitled brats, because nobody has ever required them grow up!!!! ARGH!!!
It makes me mad because he
It makes me mad because he doesn't need any of those things and seeing him "think" he does makes me sad. He does so wonderful with structure and rules that it is crazy to me not to inforce that. LOl DaizyDuke I pray to god your dear friend isn't BM! that would be very bad for me.
That sounds so much like my
That sounds so much like my step daughter. She hasn't had a soother at our house since she was a baby, she has been in her own twin bed since before she was 2, walks everywhere and if she falls at our house she picks her self and says "I'm okay" unless she is bleeding. When she is at her moms house she still has a soother (even though she is now 3 1/2), she sleeps in a crib or in her moms bed, her mom carries her everywhere and my husband and I showed up to pick her up and watched as she cried in her moms lap while her mom put polysporin on her hands and knees but when she got into the van there wasn't even a red mark on her. Unfortunately the way that her mother babies her has started to affect how she is at our house. She spends most of her time with us now crying and saying she just wants to be with her mom. I wish her mother could see how she is damaging her daughter.
