SD has stole from me and my husband, school, grandparents & family friends. We have takin everything away from her every time she has stole. its not working. she has been grounded for 2 weeks. not working. not able to go to fun Activities that was plain for that week. not working. gave her butt-woopens.. not working. nothin works for this kid. SD still doesn't have a light in her room since she 4 times try to start a fire with it. i told the advice not to give it back to her until i can trust her. i just dont know what else to do about the steeling thing. the behavior people say nothin about just do meds they say. ok, we gave in to the meds. it has helped a lil bit. not not much. u have to help ur self too. there is nothin called a magic pill. if u have any advice please give it. ill well needed if it. thank you..!

Maybe have her clean the sideboards, bathtub, clean the toilet, and whenever she gets $ fro her birthday or Christmas give it to someone that she has stolen from. Make HER do it. Good luck! My step son steals and is sneeky too, it sucks!

i like that, no bday's, no christmas, easter's, etc cause all the $$ for her presents she would've gotten has to go to pay for the stuff she stole

thats a good idea about when she gets money to give it to the other person she stole from. but she loves doing choirs. so that wouldnt work. i have done that lol

I would make her go to every person she stole form and make her admit what she did and give it back. I would also make her do work for each person equally the mount she took. Sometimes we have to get creative and seeing that there is a face behind the person she wronged as well as embarrassing the crap out if her might help. Plus instead of making her see that person once she will have see them several times til she is paid up. Good luck

I'm a pretty big believer in hard work and humiliation. (And heeere comes the flaming!)

Right now, I'm FURIOUS at SD15. She has committed the same offense 4 times in the last year; sneaking onto other people's phones and computers and sexting with her little piece of trash not-boyfriend.

IF we had her, oh, the misery she would be in.

She would come home from school and do outside chores in the cold until dark (we have plenty of warm clothes) and then come in and do homework. If she's done with homework, she'll do MY homework until (an early) bedtime. She would have no door. She would have an air mattress and a footlocker with her school uniforms and two sets of sweats for dirty chores. She can wash them daily. She would be required to keep everything spotless and neat, subject to inspection at any time. She would be required to get up at 0500 and exercise with us. And then off to school, and do it all over again.

If she were a thief like your kid, I might be tempted to make her a sign that says, "I am a thief" and have her stand on the corner by the mall on the weekends. Sure, it's humiliating, but having a thief in your household is humiliating to the adults.
