We saw SS and the baby on "Skype" last thursday and again yesterday. They looked great. She recognised me and waved! SS gave us a tour of the apartment using the webcam. It is a beautiful apartment. There is a lady in the building who looks after the baby when SS is away. He was able to quit the restaurant job. He signed a one-year lease and he made a very good choice. It is a 2-bedroom and 1-washroom. And it is very clean. It is in a good neigbourhood too. He invited us for lunch this Sunday! My husband is over the moon. The ex-wife has not been able to reach SS and is trying to find out but no one knows wher he is either. Serves that bitch right. We are planning on buying SS a sofa and a few chairs for the apartment. Right now, they only have beds and two chairs. We did not deposit the cheque he gave us. We are looking into putting the money he gave for rent into a savings bond for the baby. I cannot wait for Sunday. I am going to make a bucket of my Mac'n'Cheese that SS loves, but wont admit to it. It looks like it is getting better. I think overall, SS did the right thing by moving. Even though it hurt us, it was the only way he could have escaped his mom, as sad as that sounds.
