Not sure why this bothers me.

BM dumped SS at our door a few years ago. He was late 15ish. She talked to him a lot when he lived here, but only saw him a few times a year.

SS went into military about 4 months ago. (Thank you god). I am glad he is in the military and not in my house. I also did not help in raising him those few years he lived here.

SOOOO…why does it annoy me to see BM act like MOTY all over his FB? I would bet than none of her friends even know that SS did not live with her those years. She blows up his FB every day with how much she loooooooves and misses him and how she is SOOOO into the military now. AND HOW PROUD SHE IS OF HIM!! That is her post to him at least 3 times a week. Bleck! She had a shirt made with his name and the branch of military that he is in and it is her FB picture. GAH woman…you could not help raise him after he got to 15 so why the big deal now?
She is a weirdo…And I am a weirdo to because I let it get under my skin and I have NOOOO clue why it bothers me.

One more question....

“I’m so proud of you son!”

My DH does this ALL the time. He and BM have always done this. If SS made a "D", they go all mushy and “proud” because he did not make an F. If he farted, they were telling him how proud they were of him. It is constant and has always been that way. Is that normal?

I am VERY proud of my kids. I have a lot to be proud of where they are concerned. But I bet I have only told them a few times this year that I was proud of them for one reason or another. I bet SS has heard this at least a few times a week to every day since he was born. I told my kids I was proud for extraordinary things, like straight A’s and community service and scholarships. Not just because they woke up and got out of bed.

How often do you tell your kids you are proud of them.

I thinking saying something like that all the time for every day non-accomplishments just diminishes the value. you might as well be saying "cheese sandwich"

The skids are young right now, so when they behave all day, I am proud of them. But I usually pull the that's awesome, or cool when they are showing me something they did. As they get older I totally see myself being like you with letting them know when I am truly proud of them. Their BM doesn't talk to them, she walked out, and we found out not to long ago from a friend that she was trying to get a waitressing job by saying that she was a single mom of three kids she had to support... ummm if she has to SUPPORT them, I would like to see the childsupport!!!! She gives us nothing, we struggle to make ends meat, because we have to raise three kids on just my husbands salary.

FB is so stupid. don't get me wrong, I have an account, get on it daily, check birthdays and such, but get totally annoyed by some people and their stupid posts like you are referring to.

I really think that the people who post the most about how "wonderful their life is" about "how proud they are of Johnny" etc. are the ones that are trying make everyone believe they are something they are not. Your BM case in point. Somewhere along the line someone told BM that they thought it was cool or something that SS is in the military and Miss Narcassist ran with it, she is getting attention vicariously through her son. How pathetic.

OMG yes! FB is the way to show the person youd wish everyone would see you as for insecure people, like SSs BM. She has recently decided to make her profile pic one of her dressed like a "fairy"- I wish I were kidding. It was like watching a train wreck happen- I just couldn't look away.

Additionally the military usually garners a lot of support from people. There is literally an overabundance of crap you can get with military mom on it. Also mom may be looking to cash in on some benefits of on post.

CTBB's BM (Whorebag)did this very same thing. "My poor baby" "my baby likes my cooking" THAN WHY DOESN'T HE LIVE WITH YOU ?!The sad thing is CTBB always hoped she'd take him in. Poor baby indeed. She was too busy being the town trampoline.

It's called "over praise" and it loses all meaning to a child. "GOOD JOB, BUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDYY!"

I distinctly remember GG piling on the praise simply b/c I asked an almost seven year old boy to take some meal scrap over to the next door neighbour's house and give it to their neglected dog. Most kids LOVE to feed animals and wouldn't even have to be ASKED!! But noooooo! GG, I kid you NOT, was getting ready to "supervise" and "watch over" Prince Hygiene walking exactly TEN steps over from our house!!!!

I watched PH's reaction as GG heaped on the praise. It was like a ZOMBIE look. He didn't make eye contact with his dad and simply schlepped back to his video games, acting rather annoyed that I had him go out for 5 minutes to get some fresh air.

I'm no Katie Couric fan, but the self-esteem movement has exploded into a big fat disaster. VD (SD stb13) now "lacks confidence in her own ability" WHY? Because the Behemoth and clan have told her she can do no wrong!! That she doesn't have to try or lift a finger to learn anything new. She's PERFECT the way she is! And now she knows DIFFERENTLY as she FAILS her way through yet another grade.

Oh, and Willow, it will only be a matter of time before you come over completely to the "dark side" Wink

It bugs the crap out of me when BM does stuff like that too (mushy FB posts). She manages to do the easy part of parenting but is completely absent for the hard parts. But, she acts like she's MOTY and publicly pretends she's a loving, caring mother. It bugs me. I want her to be a good mother, don't get me wrong, but she's not and witnessing her act the role makes me want to barf. I can barely contain myself when she acts this way in court. In my dreams, I stand up and scream: "Your Honor, I object! She's a pathetic person and an even worse parent!"
