No Eating in Vehicle Policy. . .Anyone Have One?
My skids are all PASed out. BUT both they and their father are utter SLOBS!! I never allowed my bios to eat in the car but did allow water bottles in cup holders for obvious reasons.
Well when I met up with Chef, it was ANYTHING GOES! Anything to make his "angels" more COMFORTABLE (TM). So to this day I have nightmares of giant cups full of chocolate milk shake upturning onto my upholstery. Stepped on smashed chicken mcnuggets caked into the floor mats. Oh and the fact that they would routinely piss in the car.
So when I purchased my previously enjoyed Suburu, those smells came wafting back thus giving me flashbacks of terror.
Has anyone tried to institute a "no eating in vehicles" policy and how did that work out? I know Chef just overrode anything or any idea I had pertaining to parenting and let his kids run wild when at my house and in my vehicles.

My Skids are not allowed to
My Skids are not allowed to drink anything other than water in the car and only eat in the car when we are on road trips. Then it's only items that aren't really messy. Like no powered donuts. They have to have a trash bag and napkins. No stains or food ground into the floor yet.
This is our rule also. I've
This is our rule also. I've had to add chewing gum on the NO list. I found gum on the carpet in my car after a skid weekend. Now it is banned anywhere near us, no car, no house, no yard at our home.
DPs car is trashed all the
DPs car is trashed all the time from both he and SDs. He has to get it detailed several times a year it gets so bad. I try to tell him just freaking make sure all trash is taken out immediately and wash/vacuum it once a month or so. To no avail. Sometimes his car really smells so I have to search it for the source. I've found moldy food more times than I'd like. And I blame HIM more than SDs (since it's usually food he's left and forgotten about).
I allow moderate eating in car ONLY when necessary. And only things that can be easily cleaned up. SDs know to never, ever leave trash or food in my car or the privilege goes away. SDs prefer my car because it's clean and they are learning to take care of it (no feet on seats, no food spills, only water, no trash left).

I tried locking my vehicle to keep Prince Hygiene (YSS at the time stb 7) out of my vehicle, since he liked to turn knobs and mash buttons. Chef got angrier than blazes at me for trying to keep his "angel" out of my car.
We do not eat in our cars.
We do not eat in our cars. The kids can have WATER. We also don't allow food OR drink anywhere but in the dining room or kitchen. Water bottles are allowed in their rooms, but if they don't throw the bottles away the privilege is taken away.

SS11 pissed in my car just a few weeks ago. I made him clean it up and made him do the laundry. We allow them to eat in the car because we always end up on long drives because the troll is lazy. However, I don't allow open soft drinks. They all must have a lid on them. If they make a mess they have to clean it up, and I'm not talking about just throwing away garbage either. I mean swiping down seats and all.

Please explain this to me?!? ELEVEN YEARS OLD? Did he wet his pants... like didn't say he had to go, just sat there and pissed his pants???

Just Wow, yup. He still does.

I eat in my car and I allow
I eat in my car and I allow DH to also eat since he's the one that bought it for me. But nobody else is suppose to. SS only gets to eat in the car when its on a road trip out of town/state. I even made my mother hold off on eating her fries in the car last week because I just knew she was going to make a mess...she didn't listen and then SS ratted her out for spilling a french fry on the floor.
My first and so far only
My first and so far only brand new car, my mother spilled a soda on the passenger seat not three months after I got it. The stain never really came out.
I let BS5 eat and drink in
I let BS5 eat and drink in the car. He is honestly very neat and I have leather seats, so it's no biggie to clean up a mess... but he doesn't really make messes. Of course with that said, I don't let him eat anything messy like pizza or a chocolate on a hot day or anything like that, but that's just common sense right? Seriously, our long haired German Shepherd that insists on going EVERYWHERE with us, makes 10000 times more of mess is both cars than BS5 does!
We just bought a fully loaded
We just bought a fully loaded Toyota Sierra and there will be no eating! But I can see my resolve slipping so we also got the seven year interior/exterior maintenance plan.
