2 more weeks of day care expenses.

Sweet T's picture

Last night when I was balancing my bank account it hit me, BE has 2 more weeks of summer program daycare and then fingers crossed we are done forever!!!!

The summer plan runs me 175.00 a week so it gets pretty spend and that is really the cheapest option and is through the school. My ex pays 153.00 a month of the 700.00 expense and I pay the rest.

Bs is starting 5th grade and will get on and off the bus himself when school starts and next summer he will stay home. I have offered his dad the opportunity to make longer 3 or 4 day weekends next year. I plan on sending him to the Jr high program 2 days a week so he is not laying around playing video games all day but interacting and doing things. I doubt his dad will want to pay a portion of that and I am fine with that. I want our son to do it so I will pay it.

Anyways it just hit me that huge expense is going away for me. Yeah!!!! I signed him up for the bus and we have been using the alarm.clock to start getting him ready for this new big boy step and he has been awesome!!!!

Just so you know, more expenses will crop up, braces, sports fees, equipment, college, it never ends!

I am, he already gets off the bus and can stay home a couple of hours while I go grocery shopping ect.. he is very responsible.

He will be in 5th grade this year and will be home alone 2hrs before the bus gets there.

It will only be 4 days as DH is off Wednesdays and I am friends with a retired woman a few doors down if I need something. Initially I will be calling at 9am every morning to make sure he is ready to go.

Braces are definitely needed and I know even though it is in the decree ex will not pay. He stuffed bm1 2k on ss17s braces. It will be me paying...that is fine that is what a good parent does. My Dental will pay 1500.00 of it. It would be stupid to make him do it himself as an adult when insurance doesn't pay.

I Do feel a little sad my only baby is growing up, but I live in the moment and enjoy the blessings of every age.

Congrats to you Sweet T. Child Care expenses are VERY high.

It WILL feel good to have a little extra $$ around to pay bills or treat yourself every now and then.

IF you can.

I still have at LEAST 8 more years of aftercare/daycare to go for BS2. BD6 attends summer camp at $700 and month, and $200 a month for aftercare for a few more years.
We work to pay daycare, I swear.

Babybugged, I went the same route...BS12 was in kindergarten, and BOOM...here came BD6.
BD6 was almost to kindergarten...Annnnnnd BS2 came along.
And yes, I know how birth control works...it didn't.

I am going on a shopping spree once BS2 hits kindergarten. Biggrin
