Where to spend my personal time?
BM is throwing a party for her sons (my unofficial SSs) math coach. And DH-Partner & I have been invited. Yay! (Long story short… SSs went to state, she wants to throw him a thank you party… because she is "awesome BM" & needs to show the world how wonderful she is - vs the cheating ho that she really is.) Anyway, she's one of these people that schmoozes up to the "right" people because she wants something from them (in this instance: accolades for her $hit-don't-stink sons). I can't tell where she end's & math coach begins. Here's a few examples of her cunningness:
My DH-Partner: she convinced him (when they 1st met) to sell off his rental property & bring home the cash (for the wedding & all); she also got him to pay off her student loan (for the kids & all); very clever gal.
Her new DH: had suntan businesses & sold them off when they got married (for their new house & all)… surprise.
Math Coach: youngest son was named best on the team; no surprise there.
Anyway, this thank you party for SSs math coach is in 2 wks, and I just don't want to hang out at a place where she is center of attention, again. I swear I'm going to puke in my mouth if I have to go.
I just want to make up some kind of excuse to not go. I know that's sad, but I just can't do this anymore.

You certainly don't have to
You certainly don't have to go and I wouldn't. I would rather sit home and stare at the wall than attend that event but I'm sure you can come up with something better!
unless the kid would be
unless the kid would be crushed with my absence, I would ask DH to go alone.
Thx for the comments
Thx for the comments everyone. All good ones. Giving me something to ponder.
I think I might be bugged a bit if DH-Partner goes alone, but it wouldn't be the first time he's gone to "math team sessions" alone. DH-Partner is a math whiz like the boys, so it's something he enjoyed. But this "math coach party" is just another "look at how awesome I am" attempt by BM. I think I might just sit this one out.
Have a happy rest of your Friday & have an AWESOMER weekend! hahaa
You too and don't feel
You too and don't feel uncomfortable your DH is going alone; besides being normal it just serves to show that you are not an insecure person.
Enjoy your weekend!
Interesting angle… whenever
Interesting angle… whenever we get the district pleasure of being in the same air space as BM, she always manages to "strike a pose": sticks out her breast and sometimes even appears to arch her back. Once she sat in a chair right in front of us & leaned over the back rest, arching her back…. twisting at the waste. I love to observe & contemplate her moves & words. Weird part was that her legs were crossed under the table & seemed to inter-mingle with that of her oldest sons legs. Creeped me out a bit. Oldest SS kind of backed his chair up a bit (perhaps to give BM more space… because she requires a lot of space); soon after oldest SS left the table. ~ I don't think she's still into DH-Partner, but I do think she needs to be the center of everyone's world. Insecurity thing. Her Dad (according to DH-Partner) was abusive when sober, but turned in a happy loving drunk. That's a whole story right there. Oh, she also makes comments like: youngest SS accidentally wore my skinny jeans to school the other day. Barf. Yeah BM it's because they shrink down to nothing (which is youngest SS size - very thin teen)… and then magically expand to ginormous to fit around your flat a$$. lol
Thank you party for the Math
Thank you party for the Math coach? Awkward...
I thought you had to help your Aunt after her surgery that weekend and all because she just had that surgery and its your turn to help her recover and get groceries that day, right? Darn No Math party... Maybe shoe shopping at the mall for your dear sick Aunt? lol
LOL… yes as a matter of fact
LOL… yes as a matter of fact I do need to attend my aunts surgery that's going to be scheduled on the very same day. Thx for reminding me! Hahahaa
Who has a party for the coach
Who has a party for the coach who did what he was paid to do?
What a suck-up!
Nah, abandon DHP to attend if he sees fit. I would tell SS that you are proud of him for doing so well and obviously the coach did what he was paid to do. And no, there is no need for you to attend such a party. Just think of what Mom could buy for him with that money }:)
Indeed: a suck-up. It must
Indeed: a suck-up. It must difficult going through life that way. Constantly weaving your web of manipulation to get what you want. Which is…? I'm just not sure. Perhaps control… since her youth was out of her control. Maybe. Barf grow up already I say! lol
