ss's alarm didn't go off - not my prob anymore.
I did not drive my ss16 to school yesterday after he slept in. I was taking a shower while he was supposed to be getting up and then came downstairs to make myself lunch and breakfast. I still had to ya know, do my hair and makeup and was not leaving for 20 more minutes when he came down all groggy and asked for a ride to school. I said no, and he went out the door and walked to school. It's only 2.5 miles but he was late for his first class. Dh got a call last evening from the school letting him know ss was late and asked ss why and ss said sterling wouldn't give me a ride so I walked. I just sat there waiting for the storm but dh didn't say anything to me instead he told ss to turn up the volume on his phone and to not let it happen again. This morning on my way to the shower I didn't hear anything from ss's room, told dh and dh went in there and ss was still snoring. Not sure what dh is going to do but it felt good disengaging and not having dh all over my ass about it. I think dh is finally getting that ss is not my kid and not my problem and I am civil but sure as hell don't always need to be nice. I am just enduring until he's out the door for the last time. lol (does that ever happen??? )

Awesome! I am glad you've successfully been able to disengage from SS and haven't received any nasty fallout from DH over it. Endure till they're gone...that's my motto now!
Oooo I love this post, and
Oooo I love this post, and can relate! DH does cartwheels trying to get his kids up for school - they're constantly sleeping through the alarm. Only once did I pitch in one morning when DH wasn't at home. That was the first and last time. Now I work at my desk (at home), and watch my SS18 as he runs out the door, late for class or work, all disheveled from having slept in. It's just a matter of time before - 1) his grades start suffering; or 2) he gets fired from his job. Sometimes that's the only way to learn. SS16 - same thing - misses his bus and when I won't drive him to school, he calls his BM, and her day is interrupted from having to pick him up and take him to school. Too bad - I'm not the alarm clock, and I'm sure not your taxi driver!
