Dh has discovered mini wife syndrome

My stepkids are both boys and dh and I have a boy and a baby girl together. He is at dads and donuts breakfast this morning with the skids and just texted me about how weird some guys act with their daughters. He said their body language is odd and they're all touchy feely like they're with their wife or girlfriend. I've never mentioned the mini wife thing to him, so it's not just you stepmoms with step daughters that think it's odd!

Ugh. Why can't bm just let us make our own decisions and let Dh parent how he wants? The skids were invited to a sleepover tomorrow night. Their friend's mom texted bm and me because she wasn't sure who had them. I said we did, thanked her and told her we would check our schedule and let her know.

Is it easier for stepdads?

I admit it. I'm jealous of my stepkids' soon to be step dad. They have adored him from the beginning, living everything he loves and fighting over his attention. Me? They were told I was "nothing to them" and it has taken 6 years to get to where we have a decent relationship. One ss still won't say my actual name.

His family is their family even though they have met them twice. My family? They don't talk to them or consider them family at all.

I just had my baby girl and my stepsons are so excited. They came over tonight and ss9 presented me with a card he made that said "I made you this card because you had bd. and I bet it hurt a lot. Love ss9" lol. I got a kick out of that. It was sweet that he thought of me. As crazy as they can be, they are sweet kids.

How far away do you live from skids? How does it work?

So right now, we are about half an hour from bm. We get the kids every other weekend and one overnight during the week. She will be moving about an hour away from us and we want to move to a different area as well. We really don't like the area she is moving to and the one we like is about 45 min-an hour away from where she will be living. I really like my skids and want them to keep a good relationship with their father and half siblings (they are 9 now).
