Wow. It is amazing how much I miss my wife and kid.

Thanks in advance for letting me go on a man-pout session.

I have been in Qatar for a week. This is my first extended business trip in ~5yrs. This trip has highlighted how amazing the family situation my wife, son (SS) and I have developed.

We really do thrive off of the interface we have with each other.

During the post 911 early 2000's I was on the road extensively. On several occasions I did not see my wife and son more than 2 weekends in 6mos. We spoke constantly and stayed very well connected. At lease as much as that is possible when we are not all together.

I don't remember that several years being this difficult.

Now for the fun stuff!!!!!

This is an amazing place. I grew up in the Middle East beginning in the late 1960's through the early 1990's. My last visit to the region was 1998 when I brought my wife and son to visit my parents prior to their retirement.

This is pretty close to a home coming for me. It would be even better if I had my family with me.

Okay, someone please let me know the address to mail my man card to for shredding.

Best regards,

Awww Rags...you know it takes being a real man to show emotions like this...you get to keep your man card and you get the super special sparkly star to stick on it:) Only 9 more stars to go before you're issued a man of the year card Smile

You are just a sweetheart, Rags...

I know how you feel, not being able to be there with your family. I have been in my native country as well, without DH and SD6 where all My family lives, and it is beyond frustrating that my family still does not know my husband and SD6. Obviously my parents know him, my sisters too, and an aunt and uncle that came to the wedding, but I have a lot of of cousins, aunts, uncles that he does not know.

I totally see my husband feeling the way you are; he doesn't like to go anywhere by himself, let alone another country, and was miserable when I left (FOR A WEEK)to my country.

The bright side is that, when you go back home, both of your "love-o-meters" will be pretty high and this will serve as a rejuvenative experience, in terms of your marriage, and those are always good.

Sincerely,

G

You are so in credibly sweet Rags. We will let you keep your man card, you deserve it!

DH's job now requires him to travel 3-6 days a month. I have been fretting over THAT. You really put things in perspective for me.

Gotta love us a Rags post!

Steve,

Enjoy the swamps. You may just catch the end of craw-fish season.

Where in La is home? I worked for a company that was based in Metarie (Sp?) for several years. I enjoyed my time in La very much.

As a long time transplant Texan I should probably say something about Raccoon Buttocks or something when speaking to a native Louisianian. Wink

As many times as I have shredded my Man Card since becoming a STalker I should have a life time subscription to the North American Man Card Replacement Service.

Enjoy your trip.

Best regards,
