yuck says cs is going to take your licenes

What?? Really?? Dh has a job and currently working on getting cs taken out of his check again.

Please I don't believe a word she says. I told dh to call himself and talk to them to get it all straight.

Dh said that if they do take his license he is going to tell them that he will lose his job and he wont be in hurt to get another. And also he paid for ten years without fail and if this I'd how they are going treat him they can take me to jail and ill sit there!

I don't think he means it he was just frustrated which I understand. But still this is stupid he was only out of work for three months and they are acting like this?? Really?

He also over paid and it was their fault and was so mean about it and he didn't get that money back.

I hate CS OFFICE!

I wouldn't get too excited until DH has a chance to talk to the department himself. This might just be BM running her mouth or perhaps running it without actually understanding how the different means of CS collections works.

Here where I live, DH would have had to contact the department and file for a temporary 'leave' of the ordered CS. It wouldn't make the owed CS go away. Your DH would still owe the full amount (plus interest) but they would not penalize or enforce the CS during his hardship filing. If DH just didn't pay his CS and didn't file for relief , then CS enforcement would be on his tail. And yes, my state does suspend licenses from parents who just don't pay. Here the parent has to be x amount in arrears.

If your husband did pay some and isn't too far behind, they may work with him to regain the arrears (plus interest) by just taking out normal CS amount from his paycheck plus a set amount more for the arrears until he is caught up.

I was just informed that yuck called about 4 or 5 times today alone to cs. So I'm guessing they did that to shut her up. That fuckng bitch! She knew dh had a job! What the fuck! I'm pissed right now!

They take that stuff seriously, he should have filed for a reduction of CS as soon as he lost his job. Only saying this because FDH was laid off from a factory a few years ago and it took him a month to find a new job, and the state suspended his license after 6 weeks of missed payments. If he'd had it reduced we could have afforded to keep paying while he was out of work. They can and will do it. It took 6 months to get in front of a judge to have it reinstated, and another 2 for the court to contact the DMV. It was a disaster.

I know that but what I'm saying is she knows dh has a job now and cs is going to resume next week and she called cs and made a huge stink. Enough so that according to her they are taking his dl.

That's what pisses me off!

Our BM tried telling DH that there was a warrant out for his arrest when he fell 2 months behind in CS because we moved.
Called her local sheriff... nope.
Called the police in our old home town... nope.
Called OUR local police... nope.
Called Child Support... they flat out said she was crazy, that a person had to be 6 consistent months or $12,000 behind in CS before they could do anything about it.

BMs lie to get under BFs' skins. Try not to freak out too much and have him CALMLY call child support tomorrow and ask what would cause his license to be suspended. Have him assume BM is lying until he hears it from CS.

I looked up the law for our state. It says they have to be 3 months behind and they will send a notice then he has 90 days to pay or enter a payment plan. So yep yuck is full of it!

Dh is going to call tomorrow and talk to them and they will just set up so it comes out of his check. Not a big deal! He is not even 3 months behind as he did make a few payments.
