Fantastic Sunday with my two bios..... sad to think that this is how my life could be...

Dh actually noticed that I was on the edge (see previous blog) and needed a break. So he told me to take the little boys out to Busch Gardens for the day, and he would handle the skids. No need to tell me twice, I was out the door.

We had an absolutely fantastic day. No fighting, no arguing, no misbehaving. We skipped all the ride areas, and had a relaxing day looking at the animals. We watched the chimps and the gorillas play and have their enrichemnt. Then we went through the mystery caves and took a walk through the animal hospital. We happened to time it right as theycwere feeding the flamingos, and the keeper let bs3 hand feed one of them. It was like a mini science field trip, so fun. Then as we were walking by the elephants, the keepers were doing a little talk so we went to go watch. Bs3 raised his hand and asked a lot of questions. When the talk was over, we were the last ones still standing there. The keepers wee having so much fun with bs3 that they closed the gates behind us and let BS do tricks with the elephants and throw them treats. It was so fantastic.

And none of that would have happened if the skids were with us. They are so worried about what they are missing, that they never enjoy the experiance right in front of them. They never want to see the animals, its always a mad dash from ride to ride, arguing over where we are going next, panicing about if we are going to do this or that. They'd have been bored two minutes into the elephant talk and wed have left before it was over. Hell, we probably wouldn't have even been there that long as they are so aggitating its usually a super quick trip (web have season passes so we pop over frequently and leave when we've had enough).

BS got his face painted..... Something I can't do with the skids because of the cost. He was so happy. And it wasn't even until we were walking to the car that I realized that I didn't have to yell/correct/discipline anyone all day. That never happens with the skids. We can get I to the car without having to get on them.

Unprompted he tells me how much fun he had and thanked me for taking him. Also something'sng that never happens with the skids. They get pissy and pout that they don't get toys from the gift shop.

A bit depressing to think that that is how my life could be all the time. That I could be that happy all the time, but I am not.

I don't think even Dh likes spending time with the skids. He loves them, but I don't think even he likes being around them. Sad

But I am going to insist on the first Sunday of the month being my day with my BIOS. I need it.

I can't help bit wonder though.... What other amazing oportunities have we missed out of because of the skids?
