Did I teach him a lesson or Screw myself
A little back story...BF complained about the amount of money I spent on food every time I went shopping. Every time, I tried to explain to him that food is expensive. It's our second (not counting CS) biggest bill every month. The funny part was, I was paying for the groceries out of my own money. I never asked him to chip in or help. I love to cook and I buy good food. I don't buy a lot of boxed or prepackaged stuff.
I was spending about $250 every two weeks and would stop at the store if we needed milk, bread or fresh veges.
I finally got tired of the complaining and told him, If you think groceries are so cheap, than you can shop and show me how it's done. So now I buy groceries one week he buys one week (with his own money). We are spending more now than when I paid for everything. He has no clue how to shop. He just buys stuff with no thought as to what is actually going to make up a meal. This last Sunday he came home with 4 packages of fish, two hams a Turkey and some other random stuff. Spends $160. No stuff for sides and no veges nothing to make our lunches so we have to eat out all week. This means I have to go to the store and get veges and lunch items.
I even sent him with a list, of which he only purchased half of what was needed. Which was funny because I was adding milk and bread last minute to the list and he got upset, and said we didn't need that stuff. SD told him yes we do cause she just used the last of the milk. He then went on tell explain the deference between a need and want, but I digress.
So now I don't have to hear complaining about my shopping but I can't make complete meals. The girls at work said I should just start serving him plates of fish and ham with no sides or veges. Maybe he'll get the hint....

Sounds like my DH! He very
Sounds like my DH! He very rarely cooks, and he relies heavily on prepackaged, processed items. So one day he served the kids and I an entree with a "side" of another leftover entree, plus packaged potato salad. Weirdest meal ever!
Make him cook the 2 weeks he
Make him cook the 2 weeks he buys the food for...lmao.
My ex would always be all "I could do this as well as you and not spend as much with groceries" Then I let him and AHHHHH! Yea, after a month he figured out he couldn't do it.
Wondering if your BF figured it out but won't admit it...
Maybe, when I was putting
Maybe, when I was putting away all the fish, I said, Wow a lot of fish. He said, Yeah, I'm not that good at this. It made me feel bad for him and I told him we just would work with what we had.
Another part I forgot to add.
Another part I forgot to add. He loves this potato soup I make. I needed Kale to make it. He comes come with Kale but not Romain Lettuce and Tomatoes that were on the list. He's says he couldn't find them. :? :? :?
Oh my god, mine has called me
Oh my god, mine has called me from the store to ask "Where's the tomatoes?" Seriously, DH? There are at least 2 stock boys working in the produce department and you call me, the person who isn't there and can't see where you are, to direct you to the tomatoes???
*lol* Well, if he admitted
My DH never gives me crap about food shopping. He'll go sometimes - but ONLY with a (very detailed) list. And he'll call me from the store at least twice to clarify something, even with a list of only 5-6 items.
On the other hand, he's an excellent cook and perfectly happy to cook whatever meal I've gotten the stuff to make!![Smile](https://prod-cdn-1.ststatic.com/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)

My husband has been acting weird about groceries too lately, especially hamburger. Now, last night I went to throw a pizza in and I asked him if I could add green olives along with the other toppings I always add. He snaps "I don't like green olives and I don't even know why you bought them in the first place!". Lol he should know by now that I only bought that jar of green olives to throw at the Skids when they get under my skin..![Wink](https://prod-cdn-1.ststatic.com/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/kolobok/wink.gif)
The funny part, I told him that next time I make us a pizza that I'm making two. One for him and one for me that will be loaded with green olives. He told me that he wants to try a piece of mine...
It would be rather comical to watch him eat just fish and ham. Bet that wouldn't last long!
My husband would eat the fish
My husband would eat the fish and ham with no veggies or sides and not think anything of it!
I am thinking I have it lucky
I am thinking I have it lucky after reading all of this. Hubby does all of the grocery shopping. Loves clipping coupons and as long as I put it on the list he gets it. I do about 85% of the cooking, so it evens out. He loves doing something, that I always hated doing.
I have probably grocery shopped 25 times since getting married 5 years ago. I hated it.
Funny thing, is he tells me I have no clue of prices anymore.
