Kicking myself

When SS spent his first major amount of time in my home, I was pregnant with his sister. For that reason, I felt uncomfortable with the idea of him calling me by my first name. I'm from a part of the U.S. where you don't call adults by their first name, and I didn't want him to be really formal with me either. I wanted to try and foster more sameness than differences between he and his siblings. So we just introduced me to him as "mimi" and he's been calling me that ever since.

Now it makes me sick, because I'm pretty sure that the degree of familiarity is why BM insisted that her new hubby of three months would be called "Daddy" by SS. "You're never here, so I told him he had two Daddys," she tells DH.

I feel like I might be the reason why DH has to listen to his kid calling a random former felon Daddy, and it makes me want to throw up.

Sad

Too late now. We'll have to live with this forever at this point.

Unless they get divorced. Wink

Smile I may call him that in my head now.

Which is awful, since I haven't actually met him. But my mind is still blown that any guy would be comfortable with a kid not his own calling him Daddy after three months. It just sets off every creep-o-meter I have.

When I say hubby of three months I mean she met him in September and married him in December.

So technically it's now hubby of like... six months. 9 total if you count the time before.

If it follows the same timeline as her other marriages she should start bitching about it here soon...

After all the crap she did to get out of her first, brief marriage, sometimes I wonder if she wasn't just mad at DH because he left her first instead of the other way around.

Really seemed like she didn't like anything about him, so maybe she's just pissed that he beat her to the punch. *shrug*

That's inappropriate. There are plenty of alternative names for "daddy" that she could have used. Not your fault. P.S.-I am a "mimi" too!
