So we’re in the middle of the WORST month of the allergy season (grass pollen is my #1 enemy followed closely by rag weed which is also in its prime!) and this morning when I woke up I was ready to die. SS6 has terrible spring allergies but he’s been ok since the worst of the tree pollen has subsided, but I’m in complete hell. My solution… take the Nasonex (you know the one… has a little Ricardo Montalban sounding bee as it’s spokesperson!) and the Zyrtec as recommended by my allergist (I call her “Wonderful Counselor”) AND toss in the magical little pink pill (Benadryl by name) for good measure!

It’s been a wild and crazy day…

I’m up. I’m down, everything is kinda foggy around the edges and a little funny for some reason… I haven’t been able to concentrate on many of the posts too closely so I apologize for ant flakier than usual comments I’ve made. Wow… but at least my eyes have stopped running like crazy and I have the full use of one nostril. Can’t make up any spit in my mouth though… couldn’t whistle if you paid me. And I think I called Mother Russia and had a pretty funny conversation about DH’s lawn maintenance practices.
HATE allergy season… this is hell. Does anyone have any natural allergy recommendations..? I’d be really appreciative…

I’ve heard about that… had a massage therapist that recommended it. Something about it being a direct shot of local pollen… like a booster shot of the stuff. Makes sense… and is yummy too. Maybe give it a try tonight in my tea…

LOL! I would be in a coma!!!! The little pink pill knocks me on my butt just by itself.

*laughs* You know… I admit to stuff on here I wouldn’t even tell my mother! If she asked how the allergies were doing I’d probably just say, “Fine… took some stuff…”

ASTELIN’s a new one… I just go by what my allergist prescribes. Gawd bless the drug companies and their promotions, right?

I've had allergies since birth

Food, pollen, dander you name it. Tried the shots and drugs etc.

Here's what I do when I'm suffering. Take a shower at the end of the day and be sure to rinse your hair also. Use a neti pot for your sinuses and an eye wash for your eyes. Drink lots of water and cut down on dairy - it creates mucus. Don't use scented soaps or shampoos. Once I become sensitive I seem to be on red alert for anything so I'm very careful about what I eat.

I also vacuum at least once a week and use natural bedding.

Thank you SO much for all of that…wow am I in trouble…
I LOVE dairy and use every stinky Bath & Body product under the sun! I will take the suggestions though… I’m desperate and am willing to try anything! Neti pot… that’s the full on irrigation system for the sinuses right? Like… make sure you do it at home and over the sink kinda flush..? Those have scared me for a while but I’m getting to the point of turning to voo-doo for some relief.

I just got one of these for free off their Facebook page.

I'm scared to use it though...LOL

It's easy to use.

You fill it with warm (not hot) salt water - they sell the salt packet with the pot. Have kleenex nearby. You lean over the sink, keep your head slightly up and tilt to one side. Pour water into upper nostril and it will drain out of the other. When Neti pot is empty, wipe nose and blow GENTLY, if you blow your nose hard you'll end up with water in your ears. Repeat on the other side.

Don't use the Neti pot if your nose is completely stuffed up.

Once you get use to using - you'll appreciate what a difference it makes.
