I don't ask much! (Vent!)
This is just an EXAMPLE of where my frustrations lie with SD:
So she SD has been here for one full week of what will now be 1 month of her 2 month summer vaca. Since we picked her up last Friday, naturally BM should've picked SD up today for the weekend, but instead she said "not this weekend." Okay, whatever - that really has nothing to do with my post.
Anyway, so there are only a few things I've ever asked of SD11.5, & they are to clean up after herself, adhere to the bed time schedule, & DO NOT eat in that room! These rules do NOT only apply to SD11, but ALL children in this house who are capable of abiding by these rules, including SS19 when lived here full time & my BS6 who lives here full time. Well, my BS6 seems to be able to abide by these simple rules with no problem while these simple rules have seemed to present such a great challenge for the much older SCs! I get it, they've been accustomed to no rules or discipline and being rewarded for mediocrity when with "guilty daddy" but seriously, are you really "INCAPABLE" putting the cap back on the mouthwash after you use it or picking up the room every night before bed? My BS6 does this stuff! And what about me finding wrappers from junk food on the bedroom floor? So not only are you openly DEFYING one of the FEW rules I FIRMLY stand behind, but then you are TOO LAZY to even try to hide by picking up after yourself and so you subsequently break one of the other simple rules?
Wow. Very frustrationg! And meanwhile I'm supposed to feel like the "bad guy" for not wanting you around because you don't follow the rules but your Dad will not enforce them on you the way he does with my much younger BS6? Ugh!

It's time to "outjerk" them.
It's time to "outjerk" them. Tell them that today is "does everything you're supopsed to do" day, and everyone who did everything they were supposed to do yesterday gets to go to an amusement park, or gets a $100 gift card to Abercrombie, or whatever, and then name them all off one at a time and list the screwups they all had, and when you get to your bio and he hasn't screwed anything up, he gets the prize.
Tell them if they don't like it they can shove it, and there will be another prize day at some random point in the next few weeks and if they want to win, they better get their shit together.
