Never Thought it would be this hard....

My step children, are doing poorly in school, lie to their father, do not bath clean up after themselves at all and due to them their mother has called CPS on us, the local Sherrif's department and we've had to go as far as threaten a restraining order against ex-wife due to her harrassment of me. My stepson texted me the other night over and over how much he hated me and his father. I showed his father and I was later blamed because the 12 yr old was having a bad day and I should have just left him alone! I'm at a loss....

Sad This is very hard. How long have you been involved in their lives? Can you all see a counselor together? It seems to me that your husband should start getting more involved in enforcing personal hygiene, at the least. If you're not a disciplinarian to them, it would be too much for you to step in and take over, but HE should! Nobody wants to be the stinky kid!

Typical. Twist it around on the stepparent.

You have a lot more tolerance than me. I see many people here who get CPS called on them. Its such a rough ordeal. I'm sorry you are going through this. Maybe you should just cut all ties in regards to stepkids.
