CPS called to BM of SD6's house
SD6's BM just called me to tell me that CPS just left there house. Apparently BM's DH went to the store the other day and had their twins age 1 with him. He went into the store to buy milk, bread, etc. and left the babies in the car alone. Someone saw them and called and reported it.
How stupid can one person be!? Seriously who leaves 1 yr old babies? I have actually told BM and her DH before that I didnt think it was wise that they left them alone. BM works where they live...she manages an apartment complex and they live in a large apartment above the office. She works in the office, her DH goes out and works on the property and the twins are left sleeping in the house often. Sure they are sleeping and they will probably be fine.
Add to this the fact that one of the babies has hydrocephalus. He is prone to sizures. What if he has one during a nap and stops breathing? 1 year olds need constant supervision but 1 year olds with hydrocephalus....DUH!!!!
BM said that CPS is going to my SD6's school to talk to her and that they will be calling my DH to talk to him. DH is a nervous wreck and doesnt know what to say. My advice was to just simply tell the truth. I'm not really sure though what if any information he should share with them. Any advice? Suggestions? Similar exsperiences?

Whoa, seriously? They leave
Whoa, seriously? They leave their 1 year old babies alone in the house? And one of them is special needs? I would have called CPS a LONG time ago!!
DH just needs to be honest. You are not the guilty parties so no need to be nervous. Hope you are ready to take on SD full time!
BM and her DH are clearly bad parents.
That's a tough one. I agree
That's a tough one. I agree though. You are not guilty parties to what goes on over there. So just be honest. If it were me though I wouldn't go spilling my guts about everything I know. Answer questions honestly but don't try to add every little thing you know. Maybe let the cps worker know that your homes are very different and separate and you try not to interfere with their time and parenting. As much as I hate BM I would never want to be the main cause of getting her kids taken away unless SD was in danger or being neglected. So I would try to play a minimal role in the investigation. I'm sure cps can come to a conclusion without to much of my help. Like up said though I would def just answer any questions honestly.
