Mean SM 1 --- Knowitall SD-0
The past few weeks of having SD haven't been bad, but also haven't been great. Time and time again, I will hear "My Dad says" as if I don't exist in my own home, to which we have rules for all of our children. Same rules, regardless of child. So, in my disengaging efforts, I've let these little comments slide. Well, last night SO had to run for a few supplies. SD and I were home alone, and I inform SD that it's time to get her pj's on, and do her beauty routine, as it's close to her bedtime. I hear "My DAD said that I can wait for him!"
Me--"Well, I'M telling you to get yourself ready for bed!"
SD--stomp stomp stomp to her bedroom.
A moment later I find SD in the bathroom, brushing hair and teeth, and I explain to her that she can not say that to me anymore. I am an adult, this is my home, and there are rules and schedules to follow. I will not listen to "DAD SAYS" any longer, and she will respect my authority in this home.
SD--"okay"
Turns out, SO told her to get herself ready, and wait for him to get home, so he could tuck her in.
Little shit!!! ~but, she's a kid, and kids pull crap, so it's not some major offense.
