O/T Cookie Baking
I made cookies today!!!!!! I have always been absolutely terrible at cookies. I couldn't ever get them right. They are either too thin and spread way out on the pan and turn into one giant cookie or they are touch from too much flour or they are hard because I baked them too long or whatever.
But today....I MADE COOKIES!!!!! They taste good and they even LOOK like cookies.
It's a personal triumph and I am putting this down as a win.

Here you go. I had some over ripe bananas laying around and wanted to use them but I don't like banana bread. This recipe popped up on a list of recipes that use over ripe bananas. They are pretty good though they do have a bit of a muffin texture.
But I don't care because......I MADE COOKIES AND I DIDN'T SCREW THEM UP!!!!!
They taste good as is but I
They taste good as is but I think next time I will add a bit more cinnamon and nutmeg to the dough. You only get a hint of those flavors in the finished cookie.

It's the darndest thing. I can make pies and cakes and bread and cinnamon rolls all from scratch and they turn out great. I can make chicken pot pie and lasagna and chicken parmesan and all kinds of different things and they all turn out great.
But cookies are just something that I struggle with. Hell, I even screw up the break and bake dough you buy from the store.

I call them "clean out the pantry cookies" since you add 3 cups of whatever mix-ins you want.
WARNING - ADVICE ALERT
When trying a new recipe, bake a single test cookie before the rest of the batch. That way, you will know how much is spreads or if the oven is the correct temperature.
Funny Story
SS13 wanted Chocolate Chip Cookies one evening. We had the Break & Bake Cookies in the 'fridge.
"ISTJ, will you make me some cookies?"
"Nope! You have oppsable thumbs and the ability to read. Just follow the instructions on the package."
...and he did!
He got them baked, but was a little late taking them out of the oven, so they were hard and he only ate one.
Hasn't asked for cookies since...
