Finally getting some hospital bills.
Went to the mailbox today to find 4, yes 4, bill from the hospital for SD's therapy. Three of them have a service date of 1/23/2015 but the statement dates are all this month. The woman at the FOC is going to shit a brick when I drop them off to her next month.
I can see it now "oh, I can't take these bills, they are too old." "Yeah, well, again, I can't pay them and give them to you until we get them." I really don't know what they expect us to do. Demand the hospital change their billing practices and refuse to enforce a court order if they don't? Yeah, good luck with that.

On the statement, does it say
On the statement, does it say when insurance made their payment or denial?
Heck no. Most them don't
Heck no. Most them don't even say what it was for. I swear I have never seen bills like this before. It's insane.
Not saying this is the case,
Not saying this is the case, but sometimes 'statements' don't itemize what the charge was. So maybe the actual bill was sent earlier, and now this is a statement of unpaid bills?
Except then why one for each service/treatment?
Would this (obviously organized and helpful, sarcasm!) hospital billing department be able to print out a copy of every bill or statement associated with each charge? That might help pinpoint WTF the problem is....
The receptionist at the
The receptionist at the therapists office said they should be itemized with dates of service. Guess what lady? They aren't.
These are definitely bills. I mean they have the little perforated tab to pull off and send your payment in with and they all say "first notice" in big block letters across the middle of the bill. It's absolutely amazing how much incompetence runs rampant through the billing department.
I just read the FOC paperwork and it says the bills are supposed to be itemized, with service date, total amount of bill, amount insurance paid, and the out of pocket expense. All these have is the balance due and a random, incorrect, service date. I really wonder how this will go down. Something tells me the FOC isn't going to get the hospital to change it's billing procedures and the FOC can't not accept bills from the hospital can it?
Can you pull your claims for
Can you pull your claims for 2015 up online in your carriers website?
Example, I can see online when my insurance is billed, date of original service, the provider, code with brief description of services (can be expanded on request), anticipated payment, and final released payment along with amount considered my responsibility.
