BM Must have a learning disability.
DH texted today saying we needed to get our taxes done ASAP. I asked him why and he said because BM just called and asked him who was claiming SD this year.
He told her since SD lives here he is claiming her. She said OK but I wouldn't doubt for a minute she will try to file first.
I told him to tell her as soon as she starts paying a decent amount to support her kid we will talk about rotating.
Also, DH spoke to his new FOC caseworker today and said it sounds like the guy is fresh out of high school and doesn't know anything. Oh joy.

BM works at H&R Block too so
BM works at H&R Block too so she knows damn well what the law is she is just hoping DH is either too stupid or too cowardly to stand up to her.
Before I came along DH probably would have made a deal with her. I don't let him get away with that. Over my dead body am I going to raise her kid for her, pay for her kid more than she does, and deal with CPS over the black eye BM gave her kid, AND give up the tax rebate too. Nuh uh, never gonna happen.
We went through that with BM
We went through that with BM last year but have joint placement and so the divorce decree states DH is entitled to claim her on even years. He tried to work something out eith BM and she completely snaked him. As a useful FYI, in the event a dispute arrisises, the parent the child lives with must sign a form which I believe was called an 832-I or something close to that. Look into it just in case she claims the kid anyway, it'll be the fastest way to resolve any issues with the IRS.
