Princess and the pea...
Not the fairy tale... What I've seen Princess eat in the last three weeks!
I reported she seems to have developed some sort of eating disorder. Loghead really stepped up. On the 20th, we both took off work and dragged her to the doctor, where they ran a panel of blood work. The doc has worked with her for 6 years, and told her she looked bad, and her habits need to change before her health really begins to deteriorate.
The panels came back okay, except for her cholestrol, which was really high.
Even though she's been here off and on since the 13th of December, I still haven't really seen her eat a meal. On Sunday, she rushed out the door to church, and didn't eat anything. She came home and I offered to make her lunch. She didn't want to eat, so she drank an Ensure... She did not eat dinner with us Sunday night, but when I woke up Monday morning, I could see she had eaten some salsa and chips during the night.
She and Loghead met with dietician last Thursday. Since the dietician works with Gibby and I for our kids' health class, I did not go along. i didn't want Princess to be uncomfortable... And I thought it was more important for Loghead to take her, so she could see how serious this was. The dietician encouraged Princess to take Ensure WITH A REGULAR DIET to build back up nutrients. All I've seen Princess do is use it as a replacement for actual eating.
Last night, I fixed fried chicken. All she did was pick off the crunchy coating, but I never saw her eat any of the meat. She ate maybe three green beans.
I've made nearly all of her favorite meals, but nothing has tempted her to eat. She says she's not doing it on purpose, she says she's just not hungry, and when she does eat, nothing tastes good.
I love her. I'm worried. But I'm kinda worn out... She's been so rude this visit. I can't say anything to her without her huffing off and rolling her eyes at me. If she asks my opinion and then doesn't like it, she growls, "Whatever," and storms out of the room. She has done nothing to help. She was late for our family gathering. She's been caught in a few fibs, and I am REALLY tired of her looking like a hooker... OMG, if I could only have a picture of what she wore to church on Sunday. God must have been cringing. Or the outfit she wore to pick up the boys at ball practice the other day! A skin tight t-shirt with little 1980s exercise shorts, blue tights and orange leg warmers and ugg boots. ugg is right!
And it's been "Mommy" this and "Mommy that." Well, honey, you know as well as I do that YOUR MOMMY never did a damn thing for you...
Enough already. Go back to school!
