It's only been 2 days and I can already feel insanity setting in...

We're finally all home on summer vacation together. The joys of being a teacher and a stepmom! Yea, me!

Lazy Boye 14 (SS) has been fighting with Gibby 8 (BS) about the TV, Wii and computer all day. Saying really mean things and then laughing when Gibby gets upset. Seriously, I sepearated the two and Gibby is sitting in the bath tub wearing goggles and reading a book, asking why Lazy Boye is so mean...

Princess 18 (SD) is sulking through the house. It's her boyfriend's birthday tomorrow and all of his family is coming from everywhere, and she's insisting she be allowed to stay at his house for the weekend, so she doesn't miss any "family fun." (Her best friend also happens to be his sister.) Loghead, my DH, agreed it was okay while I was out of town over the weekend, as long as he talked to the boy's mother first. She came in a few minutes ago, and told me she was going to call the mom and let me talk to her. I told her, honestly, she didn't want me to do that because I would tell the woman no. We only live 20 minutes away; Princess does not need to stay over... She got all pissed and stormed out of the room, saying she was 18 and she'd go anyway. I told her she needed to take that up with her father.

I called Loghead, and let him know she was threatening to go. (She has run off with this boy before, and created "car trouble" stories as an excuse to stay over...)

Loghead is at the construction site of his temp job. It's 3 hours away, I'm in charge all day long, and Gibby and the dogs are the only ones who listen.

I'm going on another mini-vacation next week. My parents' summer home is 50 minutes from here. Gibby and I will go and stay, and Loghead can deal with his own children for awhile... We've patched many things in our marriage over the last few months, and I will not let their selfish, childish ways tear me apart again...

Wow! My husband worked a job that thrust me into the driver's seat of raising his kids while he was away. I finally told him that if he wasn't around, then they should stay with their BIO mom during their summer breaks. He quickly found other employment!
