SD 6 is now SD7 as of today.

Her mum had a 15 or so kid party and invited us, my sil ,fil and sister's husband.

Of course it was our weekend  and she literally plans everything without asking but whatever.

We have SD7 open her gifts from us and his family at home. Had to rush things because BM had a need by time she randomly established at drop off. 

DH took the kids and because BM asked us to bring drinks for ourselves I went with his family and got a 12 pack of cider and a 6 pack of beer. She also asked DH for money for said party. Which would not have been an issue but she literally planned this all without any input.

Well good luck on getting said money because this woman apparently bought a 6 pack . The parents at this place went off on the beer and cider like hounds. Her food was sandwiches which we did not touch because it had sat out for forever. Had we done this whole thing together no issues but I will tell DH next year when we throw the parties to act the same way she did. 

Positive stuff ! Her eldest son is a great kid and really enjoyed talking to my DHs family. ( They knew him when he was about 8 til he was 14)  . My sister in law is awesome with power play niceness " yea we should all totally have a BBQ at our place !!" To BM . God I love her.

Best of all - SD7 paraded me to every kid as her step mom. When we ditched the party early and were saying goodbye she begged to come with us. Away from the party. She had a mountain of unopened presents but she really wanted to be back with us.

BM dropped her off after the party. We got pizza and had a (better ) cake in her terms. Sang Happy b-day. Watched some movies. She's finally tired. I so dreaded disaster but everything went well.
