I've had a needy, clingy "toxic" friend for five years now. I met her thru my daughter..she is/was my daughter's best friend's mother. The two girls met in 3rd grade and became best friends..now they are in 7th grade and are in the same "social" circle..my daughter doesn't really care for her anymore..but they are cool with each other,etc..and still hang out once in a great while..or when my friend (the girls mom) would visit..the daughter would come too..

So the past two years we've made sure that both have been invited to each other's bday parties(as they are in the same social circle). Well just last week I finally ended my friendship with the mom (she is just a negative..needy..clingy..toxic person..she treated me like her man - I had to report to her,etc.. instead of my best friend.)..anyways. Now for months my xfriend was telling me about her daughter's bday party coming up - rollerskating.

So my daughter came home yesterday and told me that her party was this friday - the whole school was talking about it - and my daughter is not invited! She acted like it didn't bother her but I know it does and I think it has something to do with me ending my friensdhip with the mom. (before I ended it I tried to talk to her about the problems..but she was just defensive and would not hear it and instead tried to put all the blame on me).

So I told my daughter not to worry about it, if she indeed NOT invited I'll bring her and a friend out to eat that night..

MY question is should I confront my xfriend (we have not talked since last week) and ask her why my daughter is not invited or should I just not say a word?
