Fun day yesterday - BM pissed off the county sheriff
So the judge granted our ex parte motion on Tuesday barring BM's BF (accused child molester) from being around the kids. Her visitation was to start Friday @ 6, but we knew that if she hadn't been served with the order, she isn't bound by it. So Thursday I called the sheriff's office to see if she had been served, she hadn't. She's an old pro at dodging service, so I explained what was going on and they said that to call back Friday afternoon, and if they hadn't served her yet, they'd come do it at our house when she picked up the kids.
So DH called Friday afternoon, and as soon as he gave his name the woman said "I'm so glad it's you, hold on a second the sheriff is standing right next to me". So DH gets on the phone with him. Turns out BM had gotten the notice they had left on her door and called them saying that she was not going to come get the papers. He told her that wasn't an option and that he would meet her to serve her. She refused and got ugly with him, so he told her that it was fine, he'd come serve her at our house when she picked up the kids. She told him bitchily (is that a word?) to "Do what he had to do, honey". He was so pissed that he came out to our house immediately after DH got off the phone with him and waited 2 hours for her to show up so he wouldn't miss her.
The funny part is that she works for a private security firm. She used to be one of the security guards that screened people at the courthouse (we prayed that we didn't have to go to court for anything!) Evidently they fired her from doing that, so she ended up transporting mental patients from the jail to the mental hospital. Pretty darn funny considering she's been there a few times herself. By the time the deputy got to our house, he had already spoken to her boss who was very unhappy and she's probably getting fired over this. When your job is working with law enforcement, you should probably not mouth off to them, but what do I know. She told him at our house that she was going to file a complaint against him because of the way he treated her. He told her to go ahead, then he called her boss again and told him all about it.
So we spent a couple hours chatting with our new friend, who actually went to high school with DH's brother and he had a sister that DH graduated with...always good to have a friend like him So we have a hearing on the order set for Monday. Our lawyer said if she shows up, the judge will crucify her. They only reason to show up is to contest the order, and judges don't like mothers (and I use that term loosely) that put their children around molesters. It will be interesting if nothing else.

That is tooo funny! Good
That is tooo funny! Good luck on your court date!!! And yes, it is always good to have "The good guys" on your side-serves her right!
Just a much needed reminder
Just a much needed reminder that karma is a bitch!
The downside is, we are going back to court for child support revision and this job would triple what she's paying now.
The upside is, if she doesn't have a job and pay her child support she goes to jail for contempt.
Really a win/win.
