CLARIFICATION: BM's Credit and BF's Bike

helena_brass's picture

I would just like to clear the air a bit about an old blog. http://www.steptalk.org/node/42541

As it turns out, BF has only missed two scheduled payments. MORE IMPORTANTLY he knew he was going to miss them so he contacted the loan agency AND BM to notify them. He worked it out with the loan agency so that he could make a large lump payment after the third month (with horribly high interest of course) and BM's credit would not be negatively impacted unless he missed the large lump payment. I think what set BM off this time was that the loan people had to coordinate with her in order to work the deal out because the loan is in her name.

So, BF has not hurt BM's credit. I didn't have all the facts at the time; I had just found out about a lot of this. BF is sometimes stingy on details, and I assume the worst because he does have a vengeful streak. I just wanted to clear that up because I misunderstood the facts and inadvertently gave BF a bad name.

I read your other blog on the matter. If the bike is such a drain, why doesn't he sell it?

I know it could be worth less than what he owes, but maybe he can't afford to own it with his CS obligation and the IRS business.

Btw, if he has court documents that say he is to be able to claim the kids for certain years, he can amend his return for that year and get the exemptions, etc. Depending on the date of that court order.
