OT- Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

Ok so this is freaking me out. I have read and heard about how SLS is so bad for your skin and can even cause skin cancer. Almost all of the products that foam up contain this ingredient. Face wash, shampoos, dish soap, detergent...

I went to check all of the products I have in the categories I mentioned, and they ALL contain this ingredient because it is cheap to make. :O

Just wanted to scare other people...

SLS is derived from coconut

SLS is derived from coconut oil, that's how it gets so foamy. If you look for soaps, face washes and shampoos that have real coconut oil instead of SLS, you'll be good to go. Alba makes great shampoos & conditioners. And I like Desert Essence for face wash. You've really got to read ingredients though - even the "safe" brands use garbage in some stuff.

All things containing sulfate. I've always had reactions to it starting with the shampoo creating sores in my scalp. Then I had to be careful with wine, salad dressing, and meds. The pills were the worst because those were the meds used to treat auto-immune disorders....well it did the exact opposite and sent me to the ER. Fun times.
