OT~ 1st Wedding Anniversary...
Ok... SO I don't work, (just a fulltime mom/wife BS1, SD5 and DH) and go to school. I don't know what to buy DH for our first anniversary (of being married) which is May 24. Nor do I have "my own money" because it is "our"... anyway...
We want to go on a cruise from friday to sunday, but that includes driving to Fort Lauderdale from Orlando (about 3 1/2 hours), to take the cruise, and then the same to come back afterwards. It also includes my mother coming from the country where she lives (that is not a big problem, since she wants to come) so she can stay with my 1 year old son. ( I don't have family here) and BM staying with SD5 which is not a problem either (Hope not).
But that is something "we would get". Would we still need to buy each other presents? I am not sure how this works!
And also, do you think that all that trouble for a 2 night cruise is worth?
Is kinda cheap too, we would be going to Bahamas for 169 per person.
Please share your experiences and advice.
Thanks!

For sure go on the trip...
and I do not think another gift is necessary!!! The cruise is awesome in itself and a chance to be alone and enjoy each other as husband and wife!!
I agree with StepG
And congrats! My one-year anniversary is May 23!

I love going to the Bahamas.
I love going to the Bahamas. We went for our honeymoon and are going again in July. I totally think its worth it, and its a good gift to each other. You can still get something small if you want. But just discuss beforehand if you want that to be your anniversary gift to each other. There are no rules, its your marriage! On our honeymoon we met a couple that was there for their 1st anniversary too. Ours was during the week because we got married on a Sunday so we only did dinner and gifts. If you can get away for a couple days without the kids, I don't think there is a better gift out there for your 1st anniversary! Did you have a wedding cake you kept the top of? We came home from dinner and ate ours...it was GOOOOOD!

Go for the trip! That would be an awesome 1st anniversary present to both of you. My DH & I were fortunate enough to be able to go back to Jamaica for our 1st anniversary last year (we got married on the beach!) and we had a fantastic time. The memories will be worth a million bucks to you ~ go, enjoy! And Happy early anniversary!
