Drac0's Inferno Part II

Drac0's picture

Sunday was uneventful. At Doug’s suggestion, we went to a raspberry farm and picked up some berries. SS didn’t want to go raspberry picking so he stayed in the car the whole time we were there. I laughed when a concerned farmer came up to our group and said. “Excuse me, there’s a tall kid in one of the cars. Is he yours?”. DW said yes he’s ours and explained that he didn’t want to come berry picking because he’s a teenager. The farmer just blinked and walked away. Our bios had fun and SIL treated her kids' lice problem and said they were good to go but if the lice problem persists, to call them and they would come pick them up.

*sound of a ventilation fan in the background*

Okay. It’s 3:20 on Monday. We finally arrived at the campsite.

BS and BD actually helped me pack the car this morning. SS helped by sleeping.

The only mishap so far is that it took us 2 hours to get here and another half an hour for FIL to maneuver his death star destroyer camper trailer into place properly. We’re still in the process of setting up.

The kids are having fun exploring the campsite. Although calling this place a campsite is really a misnomer. It’s more of a lakeside trailer park resort than anything else. I mean, we set up our tent but our tent is within throwing distance of the restaurant, some other trailers and other permanent dwellings here. Seriously, back home I am surrounded by less people than I am here. It’s a dense population here. I mean, to me, a true camp site means some form of isolation, so why am I surrounded by more strangers than I care to be?

So…So far so good. We had some lunch. FIL is busy leveling out his trailer. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make more recordings like this since the electrical outlets are few and far in between and my phone is already at 60% charge…

*ventilation fan suddenly cuts out*

What the?

*VR entry ends abruptly*

*New VR entry start*

Quick addendum. Must find another place to make these recordings other than the public bathroom. The lights here on a timer. Being stuck in this bathroom in pitch blackness is not an experience I wish to have again.

I have to agree with camping in a town. I like primitive camping for myself but do admit it is easier to keep kids occupied when there are others around their ages.

I don't like drama...Really I don't.

But drama finds me like those damn mosquitos on this trip.

And the more I spray the repellent, the more they come!

"SIL treated her kids' lice problem and said they were good to go"

Uhhh... actually treating lice isn't a short-time thing to do. If you're going to make sure they don't "come back" you need to comb (comb out baby lice and eggs, that is) every day for several days. Shampoo treatments only kill the existing adults. Hopefully you didn't let your kids' heads get anywhere near them or anything that touched their heads!
