What's the point?

So Mic finally got to the bottom of why he hasn't gotten a court date yet (after almost 4 months). They lost his paperwork. There's nothing. They want him to come fill it out again, wait another 3 months, just so they can she can do anything she wants. In the meantime, they're only open until 4:30, so he would have to leave work early just to fill out the paperwork. And I'm sure they'd just lose it again. He went ot court in January, and she didn't show. It was supposed to be rescheduled. I don't know what to do. I just came right out and said it. I told him to give up. At this point, I'm ready to just walk away from the whole thing.

Remind us why he's going back to court again?

And try not to give up. I know it often just seems hopeless, but you'll never get what you're looking for (or even PART of what you're looking for) if you don't keep trying.

Who lost the papers??????? That's insane. Did you keep the receipt when you filed. Who told you the papers where lost. Honey, this makes no sence. The court can not LOSE paperwork.

Here's my story on lost court papers..., they lost my divorce paperwork, never told me or my lawyer until about 2 weeks before I was supposed to be remarried. Said that I would have to refile and go through the entire process again, should take a month or two

My current wife went down to the courthouse, camped out in front of the judicial office and refused to leave until she spoke to the person in charge. Guess what?, divorce was final the day before our wedding! I was single (legally) for one day, LOL

The court lost my fiance's paperwork the first time he tried to finalize the divorce on his own. They said we'd get the final divorce decree in 6-8 weeks and 10 weeks later we contacted them to check the status and they said they had no record of him filing.

One reason of many that we need a LAWYER!

When my husband adopted my son, we filed all the necessarily paperwork, waited out the amount of time we had to wait by law to finalize the adoption and showed up to court the day the adoption was supposed to be finalized only to find that they had no record of us. We even had the receipt showing that we'd filed all the necessary documents! We had to start all over again. Oh, but they refunded our original filing fee, so I guess that makes it okay. Aaarrrggghhh!

I can't believe this. I must live under a rock. I have never heard of legal documents getting lost!!!!!! That's why they are called LEGAL documents. Wow.

Steamed that was actually funny.

Well, when the folks at the courthouse are moonlighting at McDonald's to supplement their pay, what can you really expect?!
