Christmas was a bust
It's not a surprise though as my FIL passed away on December 15th. DH was grieving so much that he felt physically ill. It would've helped if we could've gone to SS36's house but I was scheduled to work on Christmas Day. And, for once, I actually had to go as the ward remained open.
So that ruined our chances of going as it was right in the middle of the afternoon and we would've missed dinner. SS36 lives just over an hour's drive away so it was pointless by the time I actually got home.
Nine Christmases without my son. Nine Christmases with just either FIL and/or MIL who were not the happiest of people. I am determined that Christmas in 2020 will at least be spent surrounded by his family...and actually be HAPPY.
UGH.
