I think DH is seeing the light

In previous blog I mentioned that we had received a recommendation from the GAL that had a placement schedule (50/50) that bounced the skids back and forth between houses literally every other day and totally at random (this is due to the ever important work schedule of BM who can't possible take care of the skids on the day she works. Well come to find out that when skids met with GAL they essentially threw DH under the bus. Suddenly instead of wanting a week to week schedule like they had previously told us, they decided that this ridiculous schedule would be great. That pretty much seals the deal for us. We had contemplated heading to court to disagree with the recommendation because of the inconsistency, but with both skids giving the seal of approval we're sunk. The only consolation we have is that BM and her fiance will have an equally hellish time with this one, if not more so. Right now they have Skids and BM's fiance's kids all on the same time, leaving them with plenty of "kidless" days. With the proposed schedule, BM and her Fiance will have skids on opposite days of his kids. DH and I don't really have that time since we have BD 1 yr. DH told BM he wanted to follow the GAL's proposed schedule for April (yes they still have the pleasure of duking out a monthly placement schedule each friggen month until this gets resolved). She was really ticked off, as I believe she is even more opposed to this schedule than us, however she finally agreed.

DH has decided that he will not go to court and waste the money, time, and emotional turmoil only to have us end up with this same schedule. He also feels that if BM is opposed to it, let her spend the money to fight it. So we sat down with skids to tell them that TADA..... they get their wish. For April they have this fancy new schedule that they told the GAL they wanted. They sat down and looked at it on paper and immediately burst into tears. Why were they crying?? Because this schedule was confusing, because this schedule resulted in them not being able to play with their step siblings at BM's, and because they would have trouble setting up activities and knowing where they'd be. DH of course noticed that all their issues were about things with BM, not here. No mention that they'd be missing their (half) sister's birthday. Nope. But we had tears over not being able to see their mom's fiance's kids. HMMMMMM We politely told them that they had specifically stated they liked this schedule to GAL, and that this could very likely become permanent. Truth is, though I feel badly that skids are caught in this mess, I do not feel sorry for them. Nor will I ever participate in the future in any litigation because it is a waste of time. Dh summed it up best the other day. He said, "If I ever think about going back to court, just kick me in the balls three times and charge me ten thousand dollars."

I hope that there is some justice in the world and that she will get hers.

How old are these skids? Why are they the ones getting to make the schedule here?
