OT-My Weimy girl is home!!
I picked up my girl yesterday afternoon-just been busy watching her carefully. She is doing very well. When I took her in, as promised they let me in the exam room with her, a few mins later the Dr came in and administered the sedative. She staggered around like a drunk and I helped her not fall hard on the ground by just holding her and she put her head in my lap and we let it kick in as I talked to her and petted her. A few more mins and they took her back (this was around 945-10)- they called me at 11:30 saying she did very well and I could pick her up that afternoon.
She was happy to see me but walking very groggy- they went over all her meds/discharge info. The vet didn't even charge me extra for the hernia repair (which I was told by him and front office was additional). So $300 for spay/hernia repair, her 5 days of meds (antibiotics, pain meds and probiotics) and of course includes the stitches removal in 2 weeks. He didn't charge me for the hernia.
I felt really good leaving her with them-I might have found a new vet guys. I mean I really like my guy and we've seen him for years and he is SUPER close (this one is only 20 mins)- but his prices are getting insane.
She was very sleepy when she got home-but no whining/crying. Took her out potty and she did pee a few times. She did eat a little bit of just canned food (has refused water still). She's safe in her crate and I have it covered up so our male can't see her. The odd thing is for some reason he is acting like he does during her heats.....panting/pacing, whining, barking. Don't know why...so it's crate/rotate when I take her out. This morning she seemed much perkier and less wobbly. She takes her meds no problem mixed w/her food.
She was cranky at him bothering her and would show teeth and growl when I peeked in while he whined by her crate. Going to be a long week or so keeping her from jumping and the crate/rotate with the male acting a fool. I'm wondering if their urine smells strong after surgery mimicking a heat. Her incision looks good. I'm so happy she is home safe and sound.

So happy for you!!! I totally get what you mean about finding "your" vet. It's lie you see how they work with your pups and you're just like "yup, you're it." So maybe it's time for a change if you liked them that much! Glad your pup is home!!!
