Paying CS online through the state

Anon2009's picture

What do you think of it? Did you find it more convenient and less stressful? What did you dislike about it?

For those who have received CS through their state, what did you think of it? Was it good? Was your CS ever paid late (this would have been the state's fault)?

I liked it because it saved DH from ever having to write BM's name on a check again. Who wants to write out a check to someone who withholds visitation and mistreats and abuses the kids? Who wants to write a CS check to someone who doesn't use the CS on the kids? Not me!

It works in our favor. BM is constantly claiming that BF is a deadbeat and never pays her child support. Every time she says that, all we have to do is print out the records from the state website that show his regular monthly payments. These are admissable in court - it even says so in big bold letters at the bottom of the printout. This has come in handy repeatedly!

Also, since BF is a small business owner, he can pay several months at a time to get himself ahead, and the state will handle sending her the correct amount monthly...so he can budget his money and always stay ahead.

What I don't like is that the state's website is very unstable and seems to be down a lot when BF tries to pay...so it will take him several attempts over a couple of days to get his transaction to go through.

you can print a receipt off when you pay plus they show you a payment history. It was the best gift BM ever gave us to have it through the state. She thought it would piss H off to do it. As he had always given her cash and she sign receipt then she got funky so he started giving check and that pissed her off so she went through state which backfired on her as she owed money to the state for a family program she was on so they took her child support for a while. If she had not owed the money to the state they could not have garnished H's wages as he would have had to been over 30 days late 3 times in a calendar year.

It is great!
