Discovered a drug possession conviction for SD

3xmom's picture

Apparently my oldest SD was arrested when she was 17 for possession of less than an ounce and she plead guilty to it. WTF. We were never told at the time that it happened. I just happened to run across it doing a search on the courts online for the same last name. I don't understand how she could have been arrested and they didn't notify us too. This blows my mind. Should we contact the courts and find out more about what happened. What the hell kind of lies did that BM say and what else has been kept from us...

Four months left to go and my husband says he's done with them. All the lies and secrets. It's pathetic what these BM's do to destroy a parent relationship and the long term damage it causes the child.

You can try to contact the court house but I doubt they will freely give you the info. I'd just keep it for future reference you don't know when you'll need this info.

They will not tell you anything. Even if your DH has joint legal custody it is highly unlikely that he will convince anyone to talk to him. If DH wants to do something he can go after BM for violating the terms of the custody agreement by not notifying him. That is a violation of a provision of joint legal custody as both parents must be kept informed of things that affect the child long term. Pleading guilty to a crime definitely qualifies for that! She is going to have one hell of a time trying to get student loans and getting into a good school with that on her record.
