Christmas gift for 1 year old
So we got our 1.5 year old one of those pottery barn kids chairs with her name on it. You know this never crossed my mind until DH brought it up the night before Christmas.
DH says all light hearted and laughing.....”who do you think will be first to try out DD1’s new chair” I sitting there thinking to myself like WTF....uhhh...DD1....so then I say “I don’t know” and then the light bulb goes off and I think myself OMG....NO. And then dh cheerfully says “you know SD12 is going to have to try it out” and he’s laughing and I say Rudely “of course she will”
and here we are on day 2 of SD12 draped over, laying on, leaning on, rolling on a chair made and bought for a 1 year old.
she doesn’t sit on our gigantic sectional or recliner....and OMG its a miracle that she isn’t on daddy’s lap.....because she is the baby’s chair.
i think I’ll go out tomorrow and buy a second high chair and tell DH that I thought SD would like a more fitting seat when we have dinner.
Her father really needs to
Her father really needs to correct that. She could break the chair with all that waffle weight...
hahahahaha. Right.I'd be
hahahahaha. Right.I'd be telling any of my 3 older kid to GET OUT of the chair.
Funny......right after I posted, I came out of hiding and it was SD16 in the chair rocking and back and forth in it all the way stretched out.........you could see the seams pulling as it's fabric and made for a toddler...so now the slip cover is all stretched out......and its not meant to be leaned back in.....I think I live in a different universe than dh and skids.........
Did I mention that the baby also has one of those little ride on cars....it's just a tiny little thing where you sit on it and use your feet to make it go....or the baby can stand behind it and walk......yeah SD12 regulary rides it around the house.........dh also thinks that is cute I guess. haha
My SD loves to play with the
My SD loves to play with the toddler toys I get for my 2 year old. DD has a small stroller for her baby dolls and guess who is always fighting with her to use it? almost 7 year old SD, who has to hunch over to even push it. So freaking annoying. Of course, if DD picks up anything of SD's, it's a huge issue.
Does she have a phone?
Does she have a phone? I bet that would be fun for the baby to slobber on!
Ooh what a great idea
Ooh what a great idea. Or their own chair/bed/ whatever to sit on with a full diaper?
Whilst I'm all for the bio
Whilst I'm all for the bio parent needing to do the majority of the leg work when it comes to parenting steps, this is different as this involves YOUR DD.
Tell them to get off her chair and if they have already damaged it, inform them they are going to need to pay for a new one.
SD9 plays alot with DD1 here, and there have been occasions that DD has lost interest and gone off to something else and SD is then aimlessly staring into space with a baby toy in her hand. I dont have a problem with saying "ok SD, your staring into space, time to do something else"
