BM recently hit us for a ridiculous amount in CS and after speaking with a few professionals (our lawyer among them), it sounds like we have a good case to throw it back at her. Only now we have to hold our breath and hope that the custody case goes well. (We are filing for shared custody and she wants primary custody...)
She also wants us to pay more in child support. Apparently 50% of our income isn't enough. She says that she can claim her student loans as "unusual needs or unusual fixed expenses". Anyone else run into this? Would student debt be considered "unusual" as it applies to increasing CS?

I don't know how her student loans are your problem... Every CS calculator I have seen only takes into account insurance and daycare as additional expenses for the custodial parent. Good luck with everything!!
