Successful Day by Myself

Sweetie's picture

I know this probably doesn't sound like much but to me, it's progress. I drove into a nearby town about 25 miles away and did some shopping to purchase some toys for the puppy, sewing supplies, carpet runners, and men's cologne for my husband. It was a nice, quiet drive back and forth. I stopped after my shopping and grabbed a sandwich at Arby's. An older gentleman came up to me and pleasantly engaged me in conversation about the hot weather. I relaxed while eating my sandwich and drove back home with my packages and took the dogs back out. It was about the first time in awhile that I'd spent that much time out of the house and concentrating on something else other than things bothering me.

We all need some time like that where you feel like you've been able to get something done. It's nice to feel "normal" for a day or even part of a day. So much of what we experience and try to work on are issues which are never really resolved and someone is always upset or frustrated with what we do. Savor the moment and take some time for yourself.

Sounds like a peaceful day. I was just about to tell you to get out of the house often and get fresh air instead of wondering about problems. 25 miles is long...you must live in the "boonies", I don't think I can drive that far w/out being sick. I give you credit on that. It's like shop for everything you need one time for the whole month. Gas is expensive here so we don't drive much and the crazy traffic here is irritating.
