AUUUURRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! (vent)
:jawdrop: :jawdrop:School has been out a month, (DH has 100% custody of his kids, 10 and 6. BM has not seen or even talked to kids in 7 months) I can deal with the usual gripes of "shes hitting me" or "shes being mean to me" BUT SD10 has a snarky attitude, thinks the world REVOLVES around her and thinks she can do no wrong. Today, SD6 came out to tell me that SD10 was starting fights with her. Okay, sibling rivalry, I can understand THAT I have an older sister, we fought like cats and dogs growing up. WELLLLLLLL I ask the usual questions, get the usual "i didn't start it" crap and walk out. not 2 feet from the door, I see, out of the corner of my eye, SD10 SHOVE her sister hard enough to knock her down. Walk back in, ask her point blank what happened, and she LIED to me with her smirky smart ass grin on her face. Needless to say, I am SICK of it. I just had a HUGE battle with her because I made her ass take a nap. I got the "NAPS ARE FOR BABIES!" line, that DH got over the weekend when HE made her take a nap. I Ain't doing this shit all summer. SD10 is already grounded for her actions over the weekend. and has already lost her Ipod (that DH got for her birthday WHY i have no freakin clue) and has YET to earn it back. (DH actually threatned to sell the stupid thing sunday afternoon) I can pick my battles, BUT when every single thing that comes out of SD10s mouth is a smart ass response, or a whiny answer, I SWEAR I'm gonna loose my mind. I told her yesterday "cuss or cry but don't whine" Thanks for listening. I'm going to TRY to not go crazy here

What drove my kids mad was my insistence they hug and make up. They had to say sorry, hug with 2 arms, say "I love you' and sit nicely next to each other without a word for 5 minutes.
At least I got 5 minutes peace!
May just be the rum talking,
May just be the rum talking, but I am suggesting Boredom.
Sit in a chair. You may not read, you may not talk, you may not watch tv, may not listen to music, may not SLEEP, may not anything but look at the wall, silently, until your father gets home.
At the age of 10 kids are curious as hell, active as all get out and want (in their mind NEED) entertainment. Making them sit still, quiet, with absolutely Nothing to do... is one of the worst punishments they can have to live through.
She acts up 5 minutes after dad leaves? Sorry for your luck, your in the chair until he gets home. 2 min break per hour to pee. One ten minute break to eat lunch then back in the chair. After a day or two of this she should be bored enough that playing nicely with her sister will be considered a privilege.
