You don't see it, DH.

In big and small ways, there are examples of how I don't matter...well, at least how I am last on the list.

Here's the latest small and stupid way:
It's been hot for about a week. The house needs screens on over half the windows (no idea why DH and BM built a house and put in windows without screens and why DH thinks he has to custom make them). Anyway, the bedroom has two tiny windows with screens and we usually open a larger one with a window fan going.

I have no idea where the window fan is as DH put it away at the end of last summer (no surprise it's not where it's usually stored). I asked him to find it a week ago. Has he gone to get it? No. He's put a small table fan in our room that doesn't do anything but blow the hot air around.

Just minutes ago one of the skids came asking for the small table fan as their bedroom was hot. DH give the table fan to the skid and says its okay that we can use the window fan and finally goes to get it.

I asked and you can put it off, but now that the skid wants something you can go get it? I'm guessing if the skid had wanted the window fan, DH would have gotten it for the skid.

Yeah, I get that message too. Our SS refuses to drive (at nearly 18!!!) and so he has to be shuttled back and forth to work. it's inconvenient, but we do it.

So dinner was ready. A hot meal I had cooked.

Dh looks at me and says "Oh, I have to go pick up SS RIGHT NOW, so I will eat when I get back."

I said "No, you will eat now, because dinner is ready and I cooked it. SS can sit on the curb and wait 10 minutes, it won't KILL him. When you rely on other people for rides, you know you have to be flexible. He can wait."

I could see DH mulling it over in his mind, and he WANTED to go pick SS up. To him, that was more important. But I could also see him calculating that he might DIE if he chose that. He stayed and scarfed down his meal, and then zoomed out to go get his PRECIOUS
