4 pairs of shorts but they don't need any more?

purpledaisies's picture

Ok as you know we are going to disney in 15 days. We sent a list and i put on it that they needed 10 days worth clothing. Now if they don't have that much i will buy some no big deal. Yuck told dh that the have 4 pairs of shorts so they don't need anything. Huh ??? They don't need anything? First why would you think it is ok to send your kids off on a 10 day trip with only 4 pairs of shorts??

Maybe I'm being sensitive b\c i have had a rough week. My sons gpa died then my aunt died then my uncle died then i had my moms bday and my mil bday all since sunday to wends. Plus a wedding shower tonight and a wedding sat and i still havent gotten a present yet. Plus im still packing and i have to worry about how much clothing the boys have and they will only be here this weekend before we leave. Dh also has a docs appt on the day we leave and i haven't even bought any snacks or drinks for the drive!

Im ok my dh is wonderful. I am taking it one day at a time right now my uncles funeral was last night. But i dont know when my aunts is yet. They were wonderful people and they were one was on my gpas side the other is on my gma side. They were the sweetest most kind people i knew. And i have only been able to work one day this week which puts us in a bind. I dont know if ill make tonight or sat night b/c of the wedding. Crap!

Disneyland is hot, and 90% is walking, standing and sitting on rides that have not been washed. Clothes get dirty in one day.

Ommy that is what i was thinking too. Which is why i wanted a few extra clothes and who knows i might have to do a load or two but i wanted to make sure they had clothes they could change into midday if they wanted.

I am a germ a phoebe. The idea of not knowing who/what was sitting on that before me freaks me out, people are dirty...when I go to a public bathroom/one that I dont personally clean I hover. When I go to Disney land I pack an out fit for each day I am gone plus some. I know I a weird but I couldnt imagine clothes that I went to an amusement park in the day before...ass sweat!

I am a germaphobe too. I cringe at the thought of touching anything in public. I sanitize my (and everyone else's) hands when we leave a store. I don't touch anything in public restrooms, and if I see one of my kids do it, I nearly vomit.

DF is driving me crazy about the packing. He has never been to WDW.

He doesn't understand how hot and humid it gets down there. Spending the whole day in one outfit is out of the question. I always pack 2 outfits a day~ shorts and tank top for the morning. Then a cute summer outfit for the evenings.

Don't worry about their clothes. You have enough on your plate right now.

If they don't pack enough clothes, THEY can do laundry there. There is a laundry room next to the pool. They can toss a load in while they are swimming.

I'm not doing laundry nope not happening dh can but im not! Plus that just doesnt make sense to just have 4 pairs anyway. They need way more then that as we are going to the beach too. Plus what if we go to a nicer place to eat or something you never know.

I feel like I'm about to cry for the last few days but i have so much to do that i have been too busy to think. :O :O

Walmart has decent shorts for decent prices, trust me I know! - maybe get a couple more pairs so you only have to do laundry once?

purpledaisies's picture

We were going to buy some at walmart and stuff but i d isn't think it would that much. I mean we are talking about a woman who is always complaining about having to buy the boys clothes. Every time we turn around she is saying she bought them clothes. Either she is liying about how much they have or she just screams about buying them clothes.

Sorry about everything you're going through..

I was just thinking...my bio-kids don't have more than 4 pairs of shorts (although summer is short where we live). On the other hand, I don't claim to constantly be buying them clothes either. I think I would ever so innocently ask BM to go ahead and send some more of those clothes she's been constantly buying them.
