MIL told me something that made me smile!
When we left MIL's house yesterday, she gave me a hug and told me she loved me. Today, her and I were in the car together and she said, "Nymh, when I told you I love you yesterday that came from my heart. Do you think I ever hugged BM or told her I loved her?"
I said, "I don't know, did you?"
"HELL NO."
That just made me so happy

That would of put a smile on my face too. I still remember the first day I ever met my MIL/FIL for the first time. We hadn't even pulled out of their driveway and they beeped my husband's phone on his nextel walkie and told him that I am his best choice and they liked me better than any girls (especially BM) he had brought over to meet them. They all HATE and I mean HATE BM.

Smart MIL! Mine is about the only one of DH's immediate family that treated me great from the get-go. She loves me! She told me that she has never seen her son so happy and we are good together. BM never had much time/use for MIL though of course she trundled down during the divorce to cry on MIL's shoulder, poor victim. Yeah right.
i would
give anyhting to have a good relationship with mil. at one point we use to spend the day togehter, talk on the phone etc....then she realized i was sticking around, and that she couldnt walk all over us. thank god, it only took that crazy bat 1 week this time to show her true colors and she is now once again not a part of our life
however, if it could ever be repaired, i would be even happier!
