TOTALLY OT----I really do not like my neighbors!!

NachoMama's picture

I live on a quite little dead end street that has 6 houses on it including mine. I am not now nor have I ever been the neighborly type...I mean I can wave and say hello but I won't be coming over to borrow a cup of sugar and would appreciate the same courtesy in return. (I will leave bags of veggies on front door steps when my garden comes in though.) I mean if you TRULY need something...by all means...stop on by. Chances are pretty slim that I will answer the door if you don't call first. (I will even do this to my friends)It's not that I am trying to be rude or a bitch but I CAN'T stand someone to just pop in unexpectedly!!! I think THAT is rude. My house is probably a mess and I am probably laying around in my PJs and here you are wanting to stop by....no please do not without a call in advance. SO....I have these neighbors at the end of the street (I am at the beginning so they are 2 houses down) that annoy the crap out of me! I have 2 dogs...pit bulls (one is a rescue, one is not) if you want me to be precise...HOWEVER they are great dogs and are very well behaved. Having said that...my little girl is very protective of her mama (me). Only in our yard and house...take her off our property and she is a quivering, cowdardly mess. Strange....anyway...I don't put them on leash when I am in the yard because...well why would I? If they look like they are getting ready to stray...sharp whistle...here they come. the neighbor also has 2 dogs and 2 kids. For some reason those kids LOVE to tease MY dogs when we are outside. They will walk their little dogs up and down the street JUST to tempt my dogs. I know this because I NEVER see them walking their dogs unless I have mine outside. I mean....they can do as they please...I don't own the road but they come dangerously close to MY property line and I am just waiting on my big boy to meet them at the line and knock one of them over with his tail. (He's a luva) Then it is going to be ON!!! The neighbor herself also delights in doing this. She will walk her little stupid yappy dog to the edge of our property...which means I have to take my dogs inside...and I usually stay in there with them while poor DH has to go talk to her. And it never fails....she always asks...where did your wife go? Well hello you stupid stupid woman...would you like for my dogs to perhaps eat your dog while we chat? Not that I have EVER seen agressive behavior from either but that's what people think really....I mean I wish the woman would go to the damn PARK if she wanted to walk her dogs...we do...it's maybe 5 seconds from our neighborhood. People can be so stupid...
Sorry this is so long...I just needed a moment to rant! Smile

I feel ya on this one. I have neighbors that I CAN'T stand. I am not the neighborly type either. In fact a few years back there was a REALLY nice little couple that had a daughter the same age as our kids. We always said HI, but I am just not IN TO the whole neighborhood BBQ stuff. I regreted not meeting them officially SOONER, because one day we were walking by (in AUGUST... it was about 100 degrees outside and our air conditioner was NOT working UGH) and she invited us in to see their new puppy, (the kids). So we went. We ended up staying there for 4 hours, BBQing the whole 9. To this day she is my best friend. I wish we would have met sooner because a few months after this they moved out of state. We stay in touch pretty well, she comes home to visit a few times a year and she usually stays with us.

Anyways, my neighbors now are HORRID. They have a yappy dog that barks ALLL NIGHT LONG, and this guy... he does construction in his garage ALL freaking night long. I am talking he starts at 10 or 11 at night, and goes until 4 or 5 in the morning. All I hear is his damn hammer and stupid table saw. I want to strangle him! Who DOES this??? Really... ?

I agree with the call first thing, though I still answer the door and things. But it does bother me a bit.

I disagree on the dog thing. I don't care what type of dog you have I think it should be on a leash or a fenced in yard. Acrossed the street I have a guy that has a black lab. A very nice dog--but I would like him to be on a leash. You just never know--there is always a first time.

I do have a fenced in yard that my children stay in so I don't complain to him but we do have a leash law--I wish he would follow it.

None of our neighbors keep leashes on their dogs (technically I think I am supposed to although I don't know about in my yard...probably should check that out though) The neighbors that I am referring to only do that to walk down the street..in their yard the dogs are off leash. We have thought about a fence but then I would really look like the asshole....mine would be the only fenced yard! HAHA
The neighbor across the street...her little yappy mutt got out of the house, raced over to my house, crapped in the yard and then comes running up on the porch baring teeth like he's going to bite me. I would have beat that dog within an inch of it's life had it bitten me. She comes walking over, grabs the dog and leaves. No..."I am so sorry" or anything...come to think of it...don't like them either!

I understand, I would check out the leash law thing. If thier dog comes over again snatch it and take it the Human Society. Tell them the owner info., not yours, and the people will have to pay $50 or so to get it back.

They won't pay that to many times before they keep it on thier own yard--and stop passing yours. lol

We live on a loop & the guy across the street (who's wife was also apparently struck by the neighborhood curse of the slutty wife) who is ALWAYS outside, blowing microscopic leaves off of his driveway, weedwacking, snowblowing, shoveling, etc. I swear he does it just to avoid hanging out with his kids. Then there's the people behind us with the 3 border collies that bark all.freakin'.day.

AHHH yes I do love those people. There is another house nearby...not on my street that has this freaking dog that barks ALL MORNING long!!! It's 5 sharp barks----break----5 sharp barks! I want to feed that dog a "special" hotdog!!! I mean...those people have to be able to hear that stupid mutt barking!
