Quick Question about Court/Visitation/Custody

IS ANYONE ELSE GOING THROUGH THIS PROCESS?
OUR LAWYER DREW UP AN AFFADAVIT TO START A VISITATION/CUSTODY ORDER AND OUR COURT DATE IS THIS COMING MONDAY MAY 18TH- I SHOULD SEE SOMETHING IN THE COURT DOCKETS SHOULDN'T I? WE REC'D A LETTER FROM OUR LAWYER TELLING US THE COURT DATE BUT THERE'S NOTHING IN THE COURT DOCKETS, I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF BM REC'D THE AFFADAVIT WHICH THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND CERTIFIED TO HER ALMOST A MONTH AGO- ???

The court communication system leaves much to be desired. I would go with what your attorney guides as the to the time and date of your court appearance and the status of your case.

For some reason I'm thinking since it never was entered in the docket that BM doesn't even know about the hearing -Just curious, thanks for your input. I will go with what the lawyer has sent to us.

I would contact your Attorney now to verify there has been no attempt by the BM to back out or postpone.

My SS's BioDad and BioPaternalGrandMa played games with the last minute attempts to cancel and reschedule in an attempt to break my wife financially. If they or their attorney cancels at the last minute have your attorney petition the court to have THEM cover any delay related court or Attorney's fees that you may be exposed to.

But, IME your attorney is the one who will have the most up to date information on the status of your case.
