My stepson is 8 yrs old. I came into his life when he was 5 yrs old. He was a good kid and liked me around. Then BM came back into his life regularly about a year later. She has him almost 40% of the year now instead of just 2 weeks. DH and I had a baby in July. Since he has come home after the summer with BM he has been lying, acting very immature and not doing what he is expected to do and back talking. We just recently found out that BM has been having him lie to DH about where he has been going during the day when mom is at work. We busted her for taking him to daycare while she is at work yet DH is home all day fridays. The whole point is for skid to be with parents not third party caregivers and now BM won't tell DH anything and has skid lie. So when he comes home he has to take showers. He gets in and says he washes his hair yet when he gets out his hair isn't wet at all. This happens in the morning before school to and now DH stands in the bathroom to make sure skid is clean. Then when he eats dinner (a dinner that is something he will eat) it takes him almost an hour to eat it. He back talks DH about everything!! We are to the point that we want to cancel christmas to prove a point and make him behave. Skid barely speaks to me especially when i ask direct questions.

Is this acting out due to a new baby or is the evil plan of BM to turn skid on DH or normal 8 yr old boy behavior?
