SD16 is going to a career center, and elected to take the hardest class possible. She is LD, and I knew she wouldn't be able to do it. I don't say that meanly at all, but it is what it is. I told DH this before she started. He ignored me. BM was off telling everyone SD16 was going to be doctor. :O So I went out and spent about $200 on the supplies needed for the class. Well guess what??? After 3 weeks in... the teacher set a note home saying they don't she can do it, and needs to transfer classes ASAP as there is only one day left for transfers. So now... she needs new supplies that will cost about $100 if not more.

I told DH needs to get BM to pay for half, but I doubt he even mentions it to her, and if he does... Good luck ever seeing it. So now we are out all of this money, and get to come up with more... ERRRRRR

Like colleges do for used materials for classes such as text books? If so have her sell the stuff from her class that she can't take and get something back.

Don't you hate when bio-parents just won't admit that their child can't do something and end up wasting money because of it.

Has the SD16 even been in counseling? Do you think maybe it would help? I'm afraid you are right in that this will not stop when she is 18 - this will continue on forever if it is allowed.

My heart goes out to you.

I can see how this would be frustrating. It's nearly impossible to get some parents to see an inadequacy in their child. Hopefully DH will remember this next time, and help his daughter make a decision that makes more sense.
