Changing exchange days?
So who here has 50/50 week/on week off custody? What are the exchange times/days and why are the times/days good or bad? We currently do exchanges of SD at 6pm Sun, but don't think it is the greatest setup. Now that SD is in school, basically it's a rush to feed her dinner and get her bathed and ready for bed. (We get up at 6am to get ready for school.) Also there's the fact that no one parent really gets a full weekend with her. We're thinking either the parent getting SD picks her up after school Fri or Mon. Someone posted that after school on Friday worked, because that gave the skids the whole weekend to adjust to the rules of the house before being sent to school. We have noticed the first day SD comes back she's got a little attitude, and we'd rather her have that at home than at school while she gets adjusted to being with us. What does everybody think? My DH is going to discuss it with BM later, and I'd like him to be able to tell her why changing days might be a positive.

We have 50/50 week on/week off and the pick ups are done at the daycare/preschool each Friday. I think it works out great because like you said, the child gets the weekend to sort of adjust and you get that full weekend with them. Also, doing it on Friday's makes it so BF doesn't have to interact with BM.
I like your last point as
I like your last point as well! DH is all on board for it, and he thinks BM would be too. He likes the thought of not having to plan his day off around the pick up/drop off.

We do our swap on Mondays, at 7pm. The skid(s) are to be fed, then dropped off at the other parent's house. This seems to be working well, doesn't interfere with weekends, and allows us to take advantage of Monday holidays for long weekends. Works great for us
I think we have the best way.
I think we have the best way. On Monday morning they get on the bus and in the afternoon get off at the other house. Now this means that we live close to BM. Which sucks. But, we don't have to see anyone for switch off. We all get a full weekend. It works well for us. We have tried other ways and this one the kids like...
